Why it is worth the stop

What makes it worth anchoring for

01

The flying foxes

At dusk the colony crosses the harbour in a stream that takes twenty minutes to pass. Best seen from the water, which is where you already are.

02

Eat before you sail

The grill and seafood places on the waterfront are genuinely good, and the fish market at dawn is worth the early start.

03

Stay a night either side

Flights land mid-morning and charters leave early. A night before and after takes the pressure off both ends.

Park entrance and conservation fees are inside the charter rate and re-checked close to sailing — they move, and a stale figure becomes your problem at the gate.

Inside the rate

What the day rate already covers

  • Tender transfer from the yacht
  • Guide or ranger where the site requires one
  • Snorkelling and diving equipment
  • National park entrance and conservation fees
  • Water, shade and reef-safe sunscreen sent ashore
  • Timing planned around tide, light and the day boats

A private charter decides its own hours here. Day boats run to a fixed schedule; you do not, which is usually the difference between an empty site and a crowded one. Specific inclusions depend on the yacht selected, our charter desk will confirm the full list for your chosen vessel.

Before you commit

Four questions the desk gets weekly

How do I get there?

Direct flights from Bali take about 90 minutes, Jakarta about two and a half hours. The desk arranges transfers from the airport to the marina.

Should I arrive a day early?

Yes, if you can. It removes the risk of a delayed flight eating into the charter, and the town is worth an evening.

What is there to do in town?

Waterfront restaurants and bars, the dawn fish market, and the flying foxes at sunset. Beyond that, it is a port — the point is what you sail to.

Is it worth a day trip out?

Kelor and Kanawa are twenty and thirty minutes out respectively. Both are easy half-day runs if you have a spare morning.

Put it in the itinerary

Tell the desk which stops matter most and how many days you have. The route is built around them, and the written quote comes back the same day.
