A sandbar that only exists at low tide.
A crescent of white sand in open sea, surfacing as the tide drops and gone again by evening. Ten minutes from Manta Point, which is why the two are almost always done together.
The short answer
Walking the sandbar surrounded by open ocean, snorkelling and photography. Season: Low tide, check the charts; April–October for conditions. Access: 2 hours from Labuan Bajo, usually combined with Manta Point. Allow An hour, governed entirely by the tide.
Why it is worth the stop
It is above water for a few hours around low tide and submerged the rest of the day. The charter plans around the chart.
Ten minutes apart. Mantas in the morning, the sandbar as the tide drops — the standard and best sequence.
No shade, no facilities, no one selling anything. That is the appeal, and also why you bring water and a hat.
On paper
Park entrance and conservation fees are inside the charter rate and re-checked close to sailing — they move, and a stale figure becomes your problem at the gate.
Inside the rate
A private charter decides its own hours here. Day boats run to a fixed schedule; you do not, which is usually the difference between an empty site and a crowded one. Specific inclusions depend on the yacht selected, our charter desk will confirm the full list for your chosen vessel.
Before you commit
Only around low tide. The crew checks the chart and slots it into the day accordingly — it is one of the few stops the tide fully dictates.
Walk it, swim off it, photograph it. The snorkelling on the surrounding reef is good, and mantas are ten minutes away.
About an hour, sometimes less. It is a stop, not a destination in itself — which is why it pairs with Manta Point.
None at all. Hat, water and reef-safe sunscreen; the crew sends all three ashore with you.
